Iván Romeo Claims His First WorldTour Podium Before The Vuelta

10 Aug 2026

Iván Romeo completed the Tour de Pologne in third place overall, earning the first WorldTour stage-race podium of his career. The 22-year-old Movistar rider confirmed his progress with a strong performance in the final individual time trial in Wieliczka.

Romeo covered the 12.5-kilometre course in the fourth-fastest time, only five seconds slower than stage winner Stefan Küng. That result lifted the Spaniard onto the final podium, 16 seconds behind overall winner Marco Brenner and six seconds behind runner-up Finn Fisher-Black.

The result adds another important success to a season in which Romeo has already won the Vuelta a Andalucía. After a crash disrupted his Paris-Nice and illness kept him away from the Tour de France, the podium in Poland offers a positive reference as he turns his attention to the Vuelta a España.
