Pellizzari Conquers Neila As Gall Wins The Vuelta A Burgos
Giulio Pellizzari claimed the final stage of the 2026 Vuelta a Burgos at Lagunas de Neila, while Felix Gall survived a tense finale to secure the overall title. Oscar Onley and Gall finished three seconds behind the Italian, with the Austrian's third-place bonus proving decisive in his defence of the purple jersey.
An active race produced several breakaway attempts before a large group established itself around the middle of the 137-kilometre stage. Niels Driesen was the final survivor and carried a small advantage onto the decisive climb, but the overall contenders caught him with approximately three kilometres remaining.
Pablo Torres attacked from the reduced group and briefly opened a gap. Pellizzari was the only rider able to follow before leaving the Spaniard behind and continuing alone to victory. Behind him, Onley and Gall crossed the line together, while Giulio Ciccone finished five seconds down and Enric Mas placed fifth at 13 seconds.
Gall won the race by only five seconds over Onley and 12 over Ciccone. Pellizzari climbed to fourth overall at 34 seconds, with Mas completing the top five at 41 seconds. The narrow margins and the demanding finish provided a valuable final test for several riders preparing for the Vuelta a España.
