UAE Locks Down Isaac Del Toro Until 2031 After His Tour Breakthrough
UAE Team Emirates-XRG has secured Isaac Del Toro's future with a new contract running through the end of 2031. The long-term agreement confirms the 22-year-old Mexican as one of the central figures in the team's plans for the coming seasons.
Del Toro earned the extension after a remarkable 2026 campaign. He finished third overall at the Tour de France, won a stage and claimed the white jersey as the race's best young rider. Those results established him among the leading Grand Tour contenders of his generation.
His season has also included overall victories at the UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The variety of those successes has demonstrated his ability to perform in stage races, on steep summit finishes and in high-pressure WorldTour competition.
The new deal gives Del Toro stability during what should be the prime years of his career and allows UAE to protect one of its most valuable young assets. It also raises an important sporting question for the future: how the team will distribute leadership between Del Toro, Tadej Pogačar and the other stars in an increasingly powerful squad.
