Ciccone to leave Lidl-Trek after Il Lombardia
Giulio Ciccone will leave Lidl-Trek at the end of 2026. The team announced on 9 October that the two parties had agreed to end their partnership after eight seasons. Il Lombardia, on Saturday 10 October, will be his final race in its colours.
The Italian thus closes a chapter that began in 2019. Lidl-Trek thanked him for his contribution and wished him well for the next stage of his career.
The announcement confirms his departure, but does not name his next team. Reports linking him to Pinarello Q36.5 remain awaiting an official announcement. Ciccone is changing teams, rather than announcing his retirement.
