Pidcock condemns police motorbike collision in the peloton
Tom Pidcock has denounced a serious incident during Tre Valli Varesine in which a police motorbike travelling against the direction of the race struck two Pinarello-Q36.5 riders. Marcel Camprubí was able to continue, but Thomas Gloag abandoned with a knee injury that required stitches.
Pidcock said he was furious and initially wanted to stop racing after seeing his teammates on the ground. He eventually continued and finished second behind Jarno Widar, but insisted afterwards that such an incident should never occur and renewed concerns about vehicle safety inside professional races.
