Paul Seixas breaks through with world time trial bronze

Paul Seixas confirmed his rapid rise by winning bronze in the elite time trial at the UCI Road World Championships. The 19-year-old Frenchman completed the flat and technical 39.2-kilometre course 1:13 behind Remco Evenepoel and only 16 seconds behind Filippo Ganna.

Seixas limited risks through the tight corners but recovered time with his power on the straights and a strong finish. After also placing fourth overall at the Tour de France and second at the recent Grand Prix de Montréal, the medal strengthens his status as both a time trial specialist and a major contender for the elite road race.
