Guillaume Martin completes Lotto-Intermarche return
Guillaume Martin will race for Lotto-Intermarche in 2027 after signing a one-year contract. The official announcement confirms the agreement Attaqo reported as a rumour last week and brings the 33-year-old French climber's two-season spell with Groupama-FDJ United to an end.
The transfer is also a return to familiar surroundings. Martin rode for Wanty-Groupe Gobert, an earlier incarnation of the same structure, from 2016 to 2019 before spending five seasons with Cofidis. He recently finished 11th overall at the Vuelta a Espana and believes he can still challenge for the top ten in a Grand Tour.
Lotto-Intermarche expects Martin to combine his own ambitions with a leadership role in a young squad. His experience in stage races and the Ardennes Classics will add depth to the team, while the Frenchman has already identified the Tour de France as one of his central targets for 2027.
