Pogacar is back on the bike and already looking to 2027
Tadej Pogacar has resumed light training on an indoor trainer, 17 days after the crash that forced him out of the Vuelta a Espana while he was wearing the red jersey. The Slovenian shared images of his first pedal strokes at home as his recovery enters a new phase.
The accident left him with a fractured and dislocated left collarbone, a stable fracture of the C7 vertebra and a concussion. He underwent successful surgery on the collarbone, but UAE Team Emirates XRG has already confirmed that he will not race again this season.
The return to the trainer is an encouraging step, although it does not mean an immediate return to normal training. Pogacar will continue his rehabilitation without competitive pressure, with the aim of rebuilding fully for the 2027 season.
