Enric Mas: 'I dreamed of this day every night'

Enric Mas described winning La Vuelta 2026 as the fulfilment of a dream after taking the first Grand Tour victory of his career. The 31-year-old highlighted the support of his family and Movistar, and said his victory on the Alto de Aitana was the most special moment of the race.

Mas explained that caution throughout the final week came from knowing how painful failure can be. After five Vuelta podiums in eight participations, he finally reached the top step and ended Spain's 12-year wait for a home winner. His next objective is the World Championships in Canada.
