Evenepoel fades after dominating in Québec

Remco Evenepoel could not reproduce his Québec victory at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal. The Belgian was less prominent during the decisive moves as Isaac del Toro and Paul Seixas escaped to contest the win on the World Championships circuit.

Evenepoel had beaten Giulio Ciccone two days earlier after forcing the selection in the final 30 kilometres. His quieter Montréal performance does not erase that result, but Del Toro and Seixas have added their names to a wide-open list of contenders before the rainbow-jersey race.
