Transfer market heats up as Martin rumours grow

The 2027 transfer market has gained momentum with NSN Cycling Team signing Artem Shmidt from Netcompany INEOS on a three-year contract through 2029. The 22-year-old American, a two-time national time trial champion and 2026 Classic Dunkerque winner, joins an ambitious recruitment class that already includes Santiago Buitrago, Lennert Van Eetvelt and Kasper Asgreen. Asgreen has signed for 2027 and 2028 after two seasons at EF Education-EasyPost and is expected to lead NSN in the Classics.

Groupama-FDJ United have signed 22-year-old Italian Ludovico Crescioli from Polti VisitMalta through 2029. Lotto-Intermarché have added Colombian sprinter Juan Sebastián Molano on a two-year deal after eight seasons at UAE Team Emirates-XRG, while Stan Dewulf returns through 2028 and Clément Venturini strengthens the team's one-day racing group. Bahrain Victorious have recruited Liam Slock for 2027 and 2028, and Burgos Burpellet BH have signed versatile French rider Thomas Bonnet for one season.

Guillaume Martin could be Lotto-Intermarché's next addition. WielerFlits reports, citing multiple sources, that the 33-year-old French climber has reached an agreement to return to the structure where he began his professional career, when it raced as Wanty-Groupe Gobert. Neither the rider nor the team has officially announced the move, so it remains unconfirmed. Martin would bring experience to the climbing group around Jarno Widar as Lotto-Intermarché reshapes its roster following the departures of Van Eetvelt and Georg Zimmermann.
