Tim Wellens wins Tour of Britain after UAE show

Tim Wellens won the Tour of Britain after UAE Team Emirates-XRG dominated the final stage around Earlston. Crosswinds and three classified climbs split the race, and UAE placed five riders in the leading group to protect the Belgian's overall lead.

Nils Politt attacked alone with eight kilometres remaining and won the stage, six seconds ahead of teammate Florian Vermeersch, while Filippo Ganna was third. Wellens finished eighth and secured the overall title ahead of Lewis Askey. He will now race the Québec and Montréal GPs.
