Pidcock wins in Italy after his XCO world title

Tom Pidcock followed his XCO world title with a solo victory at the 196.4-kilometre GP Industria & Artigianato in Larciano. The Pinarello-Q36.5 rider attacked on the final climb after the last breakaway riders had been caught and held his advantage to the finish.

Pidcock won in 4:33:08, 12 seconds ahead of a six-rider chase. Christian Scaroni finished second and Anthon Charmig third, with Roger Adrià fourth. The result confirms Pidcock's form before the Québec and Montréal GPs and the Road World Championships.
