Van Aert takes second Vuelta win in three days

Wout van Aert won stage 15 of the Vuelta a España after 110.2 kilometres from Palma del Río to Córdoba. The shortened stage produced constant attacks before Van Aert joined the decisive five-rider move with Thibau Nys, Alessandro Romele, Andreas Leknessund and Ramses Debruyne.

Nys attacked 3.5 kilometres from the finish and later launched a long sprint, but Van Aert passed him in the closing metres. Romele finished second and Nys third, while the GC group arrived 2:44 later with Enric Mas still in red.

It was Van Aert's second win in three days, his fifth career Vuelta stage victory and his 16th across the three Grand Tours.
