Pogacar ends 2026 season after Vuelta crash

Tadej Pogacar will not race again in 2026 as he continues recovering from his crash on stage 8 of the Vuelta a España. UAE Team Emirates-XRG said the decision was taken with the rider and medical staff to give his injuries enough time to heal.

Pogacar sustained a fractured left collarbone, a cervical vertebra injury, concussion and abrasions. He will miss the World Championships in Montreal, the European Championships in Ljubljana and Il Lombardia, and will focus on returning in 2027.
