Vuelta shortens Córdoba stage because of extreme heat

The Vuelta a España has shortened stage 15 from 189.7 to 110.2 kilometres because of an orange warning for extreme heat in Córdoba. The extreme-weather protocol has been activated to reduce the riders' exposure to temperatures expected to approach 40°C.

The neutralised start in Palma del Río moves to 14:50 and racing begins at 15:00. From kilometre 52 the route will turn toward Santa María de Trassierra, removing around 80 kilometres and one of the three planned climbs.
