Liam Slock joins Bahrain Victorious for two seasons

Bahrain Victorious has signed Belgian rider Liam Slock for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The 25-year-old will leave Lotto-Intermarche after four years as a professional and join a team that plans to use his power, versatility and ability to sustain long efforts.

Slock can support leaders in the classics, work on flat terrain, join breakaways and contribute in time trials. Bahrain sees him as both a dependable domestique and an attacking option when the race gives him freedom to pursue his own result.

He earned the first professional victory of his career at the 2026 GP Gippingen. Slock formed part of the decisive three-man move and won the sprint ahead of established WorldTour riders including Richard Carapaz and Aleksandr Vlasov.

The Belgian also made an impression on his Tour de France debut. He spent much of stage 8 alone off the front and came within 1.3 kilometres of holding off the sprinters' chase, narrowly missing the chance to fight for a first Grand Tour stage win.

Bahrain expects Slock to continue developing as a classics rider and breakaway specialist. His arrival is part of the team's rebuild for 2027, when the departure of Santiago Buitrago to NSN Cycling will lead to a redistribution of responsibilities across the squad.
