Barx stands between the sprinters and victory in Xeraco

Stage 8 of La Vuelta covers 171 kilometres from Pucol to Xeraco and offers the sprinters another opportunity. The route is officially classified as flat, but the second-category climb of Barx can disrupt the expected bunch finish.

Barx is 4.7 kilometres long at an average gradient of 5.6%, with its summit 27.4 kilometres from the finish. A fast descent and run along the coast follow before the expected arrival in Xeraco at around 17:20 local time.
