Louis Barré takes Deutschland Tour lead

Louis Barré won the first road stage of the Deutschland Tour after attacking on the run towards Schwäbisch Hall. The Visma-Lease a Bike rider completed the 215.3-kilometre stage alone in 5:15:09.

Isaac Del Toro led the chase and finished second, 16 seconds behind, with Giulio Ciccone third. The time gained on the road and the bonuses moved Barré into the overall lead, nine seconds ahead of Del Toro and 18 ahead of Ciccone.

The result changed the balance of the race immediately after Del Toro's prologue victory. Visma now controls the leader's jersey, while UAE Team Emirates-XRG must look for opportunities to recover time during the remaining stages.
